Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) Technician based in Perth, Australia
Blue Ocean Monitoring is seeking a highly motivated technician responsible for the support and operation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) for offshore surveys. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing ocean technology company specialising in autonomous data collection systems. Blue Ocean Monitoring is a private company based in Perth, Western Australia, specialising in the design, implementation and operation of AUV’s, providing highly innovative and cost-effective solutions to offshore sectors. This role is based in Perth, but will require some travel, within Australia and internationally, including working offshore and in remote locations.
Responsible for AUV’s and associated sensors including vehicle maintenance, sensor integrations and calibration.
Responsible for project mobilisation, field operations, and demobilisation, including mission planning, equipment preparation and testing, piloting, data processing and quality control.
Create, maintain and deliver technical policies, procedures, and documentation to meet business and technical requirements.
Demonstrated 3+ years AUV operational experience.
Two-year degree and/or diploma in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Oceanography, Geomatics or closely related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Demonstrated experience in the processing of hydrographic and oceanographic data, and sound knowledge of existing and emerging survey technologies.
Effective self- initiative and teamwork working capability both onshore/offshore in accordance with HSE legislation
Legally able to work in Australia and ability to obtain a National Police Clearance certificate.
